1. There would be a multiplexer on the memory's clock pin, selecting between mcu clock and "operating" clock. The mcu would clock the memory only while in "setup" after switchon, and it may clock it fairly slowly. A similar multiplexer would be on the data pin(s) if necessary. 2. There are FPGA configuration memories beyond Xilinx offering. I remember Lynn Reed mentioning they are producing cheaper replacements, have a look at Tekmos webpage. JW |
