but also when "proofreading" a program/routine, where the comments might mislead the "proofreader" to the way the programmer thought it rather than the way it works.
So I thought it can be an interesting idea for an another type of challenge to present an uncommented routine and the task is to guess what does it do. What do you think? (I know Erik does not like the idea) You do not make any sense, how can one proof a routine one does not know what is to do. That way you could "proof" that a routione, indeed added two numbers correctly when it was supposed to subtract them. If you mean proofing a routine that is supposed to do functions x without the comments, the statement about misleading comments do have merit. Erik |
