In point of fact, the distinction between µcontroller and µprocessor is becoming more and more blurry, but that's another topic.

And as it happens, electronic geeks do try to use langauge to stake out their little fiefdoms. I had an undergraduate professor who said, in response to being asked why we had to learn all those Greek letters, "It keeps the butchers and plumbers out of our trade."

But back to the topic at hand. Do you really not see the difference between using a word adjectively and redefining it to the exclusion of all other uses? I tell you what. Find an electronics geek trying to tell the mountain rescue folks they need to start calling collapsing snow packs something else and we'll talk.
