#185081 - Bounce
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Almost all sensors requires some form of software or hardware filtering, do discriminate between real events and noise.

But for a reed switch, you don't need to care about bounce. First deactivation should trig an alarm. If it bounces doesn't really matter since it only bounces when detecting an alarm (unless the surface has huge vibrations, in which case the reed switch can't be used anyway).

The only reason why you might need filtering of the reed switch is if you have a long cable where you may pick up interference - especially if you run a very low current through the switch, i.e. have a high-impedive circuit. Then you might get spurious false alarms from someone using heavy electric equipment close by.
