That really cheered me up! The EMG signals are not continuous signals but rather intermittent pulse trains( When the patient activates his muscle, a single Gaussian pulse train of the said frequency is generated.) So I don't know whether that would be a problem for the RMS calculation for the AD637. But I'm looking into the datasheet for other possible hurdles that you mentioned. Finally, since I haven't worked with these before, my ultimate doubt is whether hardware RMS be a better option than a software solution? (It would take some burden off the code I'm writing to process the EMG signals, but I'm wondering whether the accuracy would be better.) Thanks a lot. |
