The size of the joystick will greatly influence the type of technology. A more involved video done by the same company: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLSujRnpVxg Plus there are more differences than what you listed. The power consumption has been a huge debate with MCUs. Why use a resistor that consumes power and buy a low power MCU? That's just counter-productive. Digital is naturally easier to interface with the MCU and consumes less power if integrated in the sensing device. Also, the overall construction becomes cheaper. Huge benefits by going digital in this situation and we loose infinite choices, but I claim that you never needed them. |
