I linked the application note from the On Semiconductor web site in this previous posting: http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read/177380 One has to be careful with linking documents, data sheets and application notes from stray web sites. Sometimes these change!! John - the app note copy that you linked is Rev 3 of April 2002. On the other hand the version I linked direct from On Semiconductor's site is Rev 5 of May 2006. (Over the years this app note has been known to have mistakes in it and one would do well to use the later version. I think there are still some mistakes still in the Rev 5. :-) ) Michael Karas Agreed, the first thing I look for in a data sheet is their publication date.I always look for the latest especially recent microcontrollers like the Cortex M0 from NXP, I think almost every three months they keep updating the data manuals. The MC34063A is a very old part (I think), I did not know there were so many versions of the application manual. Kai also is correct, for example if you compare the very old Intel data manuals MCS51 and the PCA cookbook with the Philips data manuals for the 8051/52 you will find the Philips has left out almost all important details. I could make a very important product work using the P89C51RD2, only with the Intels manuals. John |
