#176720 - Don't blame windows here! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

This can be quite a problem, as Windows gets confused when multiple USB-UART virtual Com port adapters get plugged in. No, this one is not the fault of Windows! Windows is perfectly capable of handling multiple virtual COM port adaptors - I frequently have at least four all in use at once! Any problems here are due to dodgy drivers on cheap & nasty adaptors. Are there any 8051 variants with 3 UARTs? I did this once with a Triscend, but I dunno what's available today - check Keil's parametric search... There are, however, plenty of Cortex-M3 with 3 UARTs - and plenty with 2 UARTs and USB - which could certainly do this. |
