#173342 - My Method... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Chico Magalhães,
I prefer it this way.... 1. System Drive should be large enough Atleast 15GB. 2. SourceCodes, schematics, etc. Take daily backups on Pendrive, Weekly/Monthly backup on CD/DVD. 3. Reference material such as PDF, schematics, technical downloaded files from internet. Backup this drive on DVDs once a month. 4. Softwares. Copy of original CDs in this drive. such as Windoz, Orcad, Eagle, SDCC, Keil, MPLAB, AVRStudio, etc. Keep only the ones that you use. And top of it all, take a backup of this whole drive whenever necessary. 5. Fun stuff (to relax your nerves) such as MP3, AVI, MOV, MPG, etc..... 6. Scratch Disk. The advantage: If Windows gets corrupt, you can go ahead and format the C drive without thinking twice about data. And remember, your PCs hard disk is a live Bomb, it can burst anytime. Treat it like this, take regular backups. This will reduce the headache when ever your PC fails. |
