#173329 - Why partition at all?? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

how much partitions should I make?
I had many partitions for my files but there is no why to have so much. Why do you think you should have any partitions at all? (ie, more than 1) In the old days, it was because of sector address limitations - but, I think, that no longer applies? I have a laptop that came with 2 partitions, and it's a pain - the partitions inevitably end up being the "wrong" size, so you start putting stuff into the "wrong" partition. Why not just leave the drive as a single partition? If you really need to physically separate stuff (which a partition does not do) - then get separate drives! |
