Tell us more about your circuit. What supply voltage exactly? Is the micro continuously running? Kai Klaas Hi all Thank you for your replies This device is a personal radiation monitor.A person will carry this device in his pocket and this will measure the radiation received . The data is uploaded every month using USB since the micro controller has a USB interface. When in USB mode USB power is used by the micro. It automatically switches to lithium cell power when disconnected from device. The device is gets up from sleep mode every 5 seconds and does some tasks and again goes back to sleep. The power section uses a low power LDO MCP1700 to regulate voltage at 1.8V.The micro used is PIC18F14K50. Now problem with using an led is since we are at the end of battery life the we may be able to blink the LED maybe for few hours which the person may miss detecting. I was looking for some strips which will change colour when electric pulse is given.Like say in normal mode it is green and when the battery is on its last legs i can pulse the strip and it will turn red something like that.It will be very easy for the person to detect that the monitoring device battery has drained. Thank you Gopalakrishnan.N |
