#168745 - The VNC offerings Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Checked out the TightVNC and it looks it will meet my needs and best is it under the GPL licence.
But was also surprised to find so many VNCs ! Real VNC, Tight VNC, Ultra VNC. Of the lot the Real VNC have made the free edition a real bare bone stuff. And Ultra VNC seems to be targetting the geeks - many of the settings were pretty tough for me. The Tight VNC seemed a good choice as its free, simple to configure and has the facility to bring in additional security if one needs. I really wonder if I need the SSH security for my intended job of remote updates and diagnostics of my own application. What joy is it for anyone to read my code ? Or is it to ensure that some nut does not hack the link ?? Raghu |
