You did write "No ... just turn it on and off at zero crossing".
That would mean that you either keep a half-cycle, or you drop it. and if you cut only half cycles you are, in effect feeding an AC motor DC --- POOF Thus I gave you a bit of "benefit of the doubt" by asking "do you cut cycles" Erik |
