I am not an expert in AC Motors, but your statement has confused me. Do you mean the "input frequency" as the Mains Supply Frequency?

Does the AC Drive control the AC Motor relative to the mains frequency?

I have been reading and referring to AN984 from Microchip, and various other AC Drive manuals. But most of them have a common block diagram.

Mains Filters -> AC-to-DC bridge -> Controller with Display/Keyboard/Mem/etc. -> DC-to-AC Inverter with filters.

But none of them take any reference signal from Mains frequency.
