#166060 - I Use These Kits Responding to: ???'s previous message |
In the past I have purchased Digikey assortment kits as of the types indicated on this page of their catalogue:
http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/T091/P2333.pdf The parts come on reel tape strips and are bagged and labeled by value. In the larger kits groups of bagged strips are then in larger bags. The kits came with index papers showing all the values in the kit and which group bags to look in. I have found that the Digikey shipping carton is a perfect storage container for the kit bags! This system works very well and most times the first time I open a bag to use part of a strip I use a permanent marker to write the component value on the non-tape side of the strip. I have found drawers and compartmentalized boxes to be a total pain in the butt for storage and access to surface mount components. Michael Karas |
