#166037 - That's a strong argument against drawers/boxes Responding to: ???'s previous message |
That's one reason I like the plastic "zip-lock" envelopes. If you drop them, nothing happens, even if they're open.
Normally I favor drawer sets firmly mounted to the wall. However, if one drops a drawer, even the ones with a lid on each compartment, they often spring open, dumping (and mixing) their contents. I'm contemplating the use of small plastic zip-lock bags that will be placed in wall-mounted cabinets of drawers. Each such drawer of the type I'm considering can have three compartments containing these small bags, and each bag can contain hundreds or even thousands of SMT components. If a drawer is dropped, no evil occurs, and, even if a bag isn't properly sealed, the risk of contamination is minimized, and spillage is unlikely unless the bag is very much overfilled. It seems quite promising to me. I'm in the (gradual) process of moving. When I'm resettled, I'll have opportunity to evaluate this concept in action. Stay tuned. RE |
