If using a binned solution, each bin must have (at least) a spring-loaded lid so that you can reduce the problem with contamination between neighbour bins.

One problem with pring-loaded lids is that if you drop the box, a number of lids will open just a little when it hits the table or floor, resulting in great havoc.
