There are MCUs that have the Reset Pin shared as an I/O pin. If your CPU has a reset input requirement that is supplied as an input from a supervisor chip and turn around and set the pin as a pushpull output it will cause the chip to not be able to respond to a brownout detection from the supervisor. That could be a disaster!!
