Erik Of course, I like you, am careful in what I do on the internet. I like the way you say that paranoia is a response to every post of yours :) The world wide web is a mesh of things both good, bad and ugly. You do have to use your senses to make the best of what it offers. I use all the features offered by my browser AVANT which includes pop-up blocker, ad blocker, etc. Settings similar to these are what M$ calls paranoia (HIGH security) in their internet settings dialog box. Most infections till now depended on user intervention. Alas, some newer virii, worms and trojans don't need such intervention and just going to the website can infect the machine. Then again, we are coders and we need to understand that virii, trojans etc are human coded programs and can be beaten only by human intelligence. Cheers JF |
