#146867 - Define trivial :-) Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Most tasks turn out to be more complicated than as they appear at the first sight. That reminded me of an exercise in communication given by an Air Force instructor. The student's task was to explain to the instructor how to smoke a cigarette. The student had to be facing away from the instructor so he couldn't see the results of his commands to the instructor (the point being that one has to be very careful of how one explains things to someone without visual contact). Student: Take a cigarette out of the pack. Instructor does so. Student: Now put the cigarette in your mouth. Instructor does so, putting the entire thing inside his mouth. Student: Take out your lighter and light it. Instructor does so. Student: Light the cigarette. Instructor's eyes get real big. |
