there are oodles and bunches of zero crossing switch modules out there, I doubt you can do better (technically or economically) than buying one.


Be mindful of the startup inrush current, and the highly inductive load will be a bitch to commutate properly - put a decent RC snubber (Try 100 Ohm resistor and a 100nF Polyester cap 400V rated)across the switch on your relay and see what happens.
