no RTOS needed here as there is only one thread of execution - the interpreter works its way through the ladder/assembler code from start to finish

I read Russells post and realized (thanks Russell - I knew it but it did not come to mind) that the ladder is a 'workloop' so why on earth muck with a RTOS and not implement the ladder as a workloop.
