Does anybody remember (or has some relevant datasheets or other documents) which Philips '51 derivatives came from Signetics? When did the takeover happen? AFAIK, Signetics produced the plain vanilla 803z/805x/and possibly 875x (I never saw any of these). They were taken over by Philips in 1990, I believe. In late 1989, they were still Signetics. I'm not even sure that Signetics produced their own MOS devices. They had a fine bipolar fab, but I believe someone else produced their MOS products. Also, what was AMD's '51 portfolio and what happened to those? Similarly, what was Telefunken's and Matra's contribution to Temic's '51 portfolio? AFAIK, AMD only produced what, of this line, Intel produced in 1987-1988. That was about the time that they took over MMI's PAL/FPGA operation and promptly spun off the FPGA operation to become XILINX. I'm really not clear whether the spin-off to XILINX happened under the aegis of MMI or of AMD. I've got some (quite a few) old databooks that date back to then and another decade and a half beyond, but I'm not sure where ... Thanks,
