When you search the web looking at CRC stuff that is spread all over the place do use care to make sure that you comprehend that the CRC-8 code for the SMBus is a different algorithm than that used for the Dallas I-Button and 1-Wire protocols. There are multiple web forum discussions and web page comments out there where people either think they are the same or are unaware that they are different.
