#142782 - Ambiguous names Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Experience has made me an expert in ambiguous names.
At 18, I received a letter from the Army. Thinking it was my draft notice, I reluctantly opened it, only to find an offer to join the Woman's Army Corps (WAC). While at first this looked like an interesting way to satisfy my military obligation, I knew that if I tried it, everyone would have a good laugh, and then a few days later I would be in a rice paddy with a rifle. Later, when applying to college, I found myself assigned to a woman's dorm. Again, this seemed like an interesting way to attend college. But I knew if I tried it, everyone would have a good laugh, and then I would be living out of my car for the rest of the semester. So I vote for adding gender to the profile. |
