"Load/Store architecture".
Which means that the instruction set distinguishes between instructions that move data from memory to registers and vice versa, and instructions that manipulate data in the processors registers in some way. In a non-Load/Store architecture, on the other hand, data processing instructions may work directly with the contents of the memory, which makes a wide variety of adressing modes necessary. |
