Chris, I completely agree with your assertion that you forget the rules of operator precedence.

IMHO, that's not a bad thing.

I second the motion. Why on earth bother remembering "operator precedencees" you do not need to know if you use parantheses. That way you work with "logical thought" instead of the K&R preferences that may and may not match "logical thought".

As far as I can recall I have never made a "precedence error" by misapplying a paranthesis, but till I decided to forget the preceedence rules by simply using parantheses I often had to grab the book to make sure I got it right.

Why bother remembering something you do not need to remember there is enough other stuff you NEED to remember.
