#140679 - mains dip
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I have recently discovered that the problem we were having was associated with the way QC was testing the product. We are currently using to 110V - 220V power inverters (that were far underpowered) and when the motors were started at the same time the uC would reset.

We never saw this before as in the older revision of the board there was no supervisory circuit.

We do still, however, get the problem but on a much smaller scale. During motor starts sometimes the LCD resets. I have added a software fix to re-initialize the LCD after a motor starts but I would really like to find a fix in hardware. Adding a 100uF cap right beside (connected to +5V and GND) the LCD solves this problem. However I cannot get approval to use this mod. The cable currently connecting the LCD to the board is 19" long. And the minimum input voltage is 4.2V as per the datasheet (http://www.hantronix.com/down/16216h5.pdf).

Is there something that can replace having a capacitor put right up on the LCD but still have the same effect?
