They have several pF of capacitive coupling between "primary" and "secondary", and the isolation voltage is not THAT high, either (plus the PCB sometimes leaks considerably when subjected to several kV, too). They are good to keep out mains voltage, still. These words should be carved into stone, Russell. Once again, the "real world" strikes back upon us, the stupid digital designer. JW |
