I just don't see my company screening caps to ensure that their ESR rating is sufficient. It's because the chip (LP2992) is designed to fit to popular Tantalum capacitors on the market. The stable range of ESR is tuned to fit to the ESR of Ta capacitor of specified capacitance. Otherwise, users have to order a custom capacitor just for the chip. And then, no one buy the chip. When a ceramic capacitor is applied to the LDO, add a (real) series resistor of specified range to the capacitor. Tsuneo |
