If you had a timer keeping track of the minutes it was actually on and updated (stored) that in EEPROM, then you could just compare to some value (time limit) and operate accordingly.
We actually did that on a machine that was sent out on Net 30 terms and a month and a half later, the guy's calling up wondering what does "Enter Key Code" mean? We said that means you haven't paid us yet. To which he hung up and we never saw the machine or heard from him again. But he can't use the machine. It didn't quite work like we planned so we haven't done it again. Jon |
