#136035 - I saw an interesting idea today . |
I saw someone today who was selling a preprogrammed micro( an avr as it happens) with his application which you could buy for £5-00 and the application would run for 40 days allowing the customer to try it out and if the customer liked it you sell them an activation code which they send via the serial port and the code runs forever.if they dont like it they can erase the flash and theyve got a blank micro.
Clearly it uses the internal eeprom to keep a count of the time its been running and all the security fuses are set, but I thought it was a clever idea for letting peple try out your application . |
