#134342 - forget JAM
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Both JAM/STAPL and SVF/XSVF are protocols describing how to wiggle the JTAG port to achieve what you want (here: reprogramming the CPLD), so they are thanksfully independent from the internals of the CPLD itself.

I know nothing on Cypress CPLDs, but if you run their "programming" tool, you should find something like "export to (X)SVF/JAM/STAPL" or similar. If you'll find it, try to run it, it will produce an output file. Come back then here telling us what you have available.

Generally, you want to have XSVF (rather than any other format - SVF is OK as there is a SVF->XSVF conversion tool freely available from Xilinx) as it is the simplest to "playback" - the keyword to google for on Xilinx's site is xapp058 - sources of the player are available there, although they might need some work to fit into a '51.

Also you may want to tell us, where do you want to store the file "to-be-burned" into the CPLD.
