#132485 - DNS was gone Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Craig,
You had no DNS resolution at all. I tried a query via my BIND9 nameserver here at home, and on my co-lo'd Linux machine. The glue was available from the root servers, but none of your nameservers responded. You server was not only down, 8052.com and Vault effectively did not exist at all. Under those circumstances, email to you would bounce indicating no such domain, and would not be spooled for retry, etc... It seems that you either have both your name servers on the same network segment, or possibly the same machine. The RFC requirement is to have two nameservers. But the reason for this is to encourage them to be physically seperate, so they have no single point of failure. There's a couple quick easy ways to fix this. Shoot me an email if you'd like to discuss. Rob |
