#131514 - PuTTY is a (new!) option too
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Very recently (2007-01-24) the release of PuTTY has gained support for serial lines.

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

(licence is Open Source certified and complies with the Debian Free Software Guidelines.)

While I have used (and really liked!) Teraterm on Windows I'd now seriously consider checking out PuTTY because its both cross-platform and free (free as in freedom and in free beer).

As I really liked the free (only free as in free beer) Teraterm as a terminal program on Windows I want to give away a tip for Teraterm users: you can overcome the limit of being able to use only COM1: to COM4: which really hurts if your USB serial adapter maps to COM5: ...
Simply by editing the variable MaxComPort=4 within the file teraterm.ini.
