Yes, you're right, Andy, but if the spell-checker coughed every time there was a misspelled word, it would encourage one to take a second look at the message before hitting <POST>. What's more, if it didn't POST the message until it was happy, it would stop some of the premature postings, where, perhaps, someone has omitted a key word/phrase, such as NOT.

Maybe if the system posted only after one hit <PREVIEW> and then retyped the entire post, ... well, that would be too time-consuming for some ...

I'm concerned that some people who are not only learning 805x hardware/programming, but are also learning poor English grammar/syntax/orthography at the same time are being done a disservice.

Whereas I really hate those programs that ask you everything three times before doing a simple thing you knew from the outset was what you wanted to do, I don't think it would be entirely bad to ask, "Do you really want to put your name at the bottom of this?"
