I wanted Steve Taylor email Dan K. and see if the forum could have the schematic or see if Dan's Email address is listed in the data base to shared with forum members. If he given more coments in his source code like Jon Ledbetter keeps telling us to do I would know how he is doing it with out aid of schematic.
But most newbie's don't. Usually they ask questions they need for school project and disappear. I been a member of this site for 3 years.
The more I read his source code the more I look at it change my mind the way it works.

He has a 8 bit binary to bcd converter in the code. I know which displays he will turn on in what order.
But he does not mention which part of the port in P1 is used for the a,b,c,d,f,and g segments.
Example on the 89c2051 is it p1.0,p1.1,p1.2,p1.3 as the binary converter output? Or is it p1.4,p1.5,p1.6 and p1.7 as the binary converter output? Or is it some other output port?
He does not mention it any where in his source code and so I am no expert on 8051 I am lost? That's why comments are so important.
The forum is a learning tool it should not be a puzzle to any one reading source code.
Any coments Erik, Kai,Jon,Jez.
Maybe everything I said about the bcd converter is wrong?
