7 segment displays only need 7 bits. And 1 bit for a digital (sic) point. 7 bits for the segments + 1 bit for the decimal point = 8 bits. So where's the problem? By the way: it's "Decimal Point" not "Digital Point" (If you wanted to be generic, the term is "Radix Point") |
