#127122 - Stick ferrite core is totally unsuited! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

And then I make a transformer with ferritte core, that result 220vac (440vp-p) at the secondary output.
... I use Switching PSU 24vdc 15A, and a stick ferrite core for the transformer. The core of such a transformer must transport an enormous magnetic to flux to power the lamp! So, a stick ferrite core is totally unsuited, because all the flux must "travel" through air. What you need is a mains type transfomer, but which is reverse connected in your case. If you want to handle 160VA, then choose a 160VA mains transformer as a start. And: Forget the high chopping frequency of 100kHz. Control the transformer by 50Hz. Take care, self fabrication is only an option if you are an expert on this stuff!! By the way, why do you need such an inverter? Kai |
