the differenmce between "solving the problem" and "efficient code" can often be overcome by the methods described by Hurley http://www.amazon.com/Concise-I...F8&s=books .

I do not understand the reluctance in so many camps to applying logic to programming.

Were I to teach programming (fear not, I am not) 101 would not involve a computer, just Hurley.
