The guys in the field probably hang onto those, because they know you can't get 'em. Tek sells accessory kits for their probes.

I've never seen a probe I'd actually want to use from run-of-the-mill probe vendors.

You can get pretty decent stuff at pretty reasonable prices on eBay, and the parts sometimes come with 'em. Moreover, if you're clever enough to ask, they have to tell you what comes with the probe.

In some cases, you will find people selling the probe accessory kits. Tektronix sells 'em and I doubt that HP doesn't. I don't know about Iwatsu, Hitachi, and other instrument makers, but they're not very different from the U.S. makers in their practices.
