But your shop has the SD101B, which is identical to LS101 and is perfectly suited. Very well, so I can find a suitable replacement but I would need your knowledge for that, or persistence in browsing datasheets etc., which is none a newbie has (or cooperation from the shop staff, which is mostly close to zero, unfortunately... they are willing, but not capable, of course.) I think, by now, you got the picture. And, mind, Slovakia is already in EU, geographically/politically/economically quite close to Germany; and this shop was the first providing parts after the communist "electronic concern" fell apart. Now, move some 1000+ km to east or south. Kai Klaas said:
By the way, labelling the 1N5711 to be "exotic" is rather strange, because it's an absolute industry standard! It's simple - nobody is buying them in THAT sort of shop ("nobody" not to be taken literally). Kai said:
Jan, we cannot design electronic circuits for a newbie while assuming all the time, that every single part is available in his local shop. If so, I would have stopped doing in electronics many years ago, when the local electronic shop in our village closed his doors! There are many many mail-order shops available in each country, where even amateurs can order their parts. The "reference" one is www.sos.sk in my case, but I don't have the time now hunt their site for those parts. My point is, if you don't make it easy enough for the newbies, they will go for the easy, albeit incorrect solution. Jan Waclawek |
