Unfortunately, I'm basically stuck with producing schematics for critical reviews and acceptance. I can't provide schematics if they're not the ones from which the logic was synthesized, since that would be dishonest, i.e. bait-and-switch.

Sooner or later they'll have a compiler/synthesis suite that produces precise and accurate schematics for review and documentation. That hasn't yet become part of the free software the mfg's provide, though, so we're stuck with ECS in the case of XILINX. Oddly enough, ALTERA software works a lot better with schematics.
