The last time I downloaded the XILINX suite, it took over twice as long per MB as it normally does. I think they need to buy 1000 more servers and hire 100K more guys in India in order to speed up their support. The current version of ISE has been out less than four months and already has three major patch sets. The schematic package is so full of crap that, despite spending considerable time on it (... until Labor day ... then it's over!), it won't import files from earlier versions, and the simulator won't install.
I think they've got a bit more work to do. All this just so it will run under Windows Vista, I suppose. RE |
