I have 3 instances of the DOS window for building each of the 3 chips I have communicating with each other in this project. I also have 3 instances of the ICE.

So, at the bottom of my screen I have 3 bars reading "Command Prompt" and 3 bars reading "Silicon Laboratorie.." I have tried stickies, but opening e.g. another explorer window moves everything about.

I have tried to move them to the left but then, when other programs are added, the stickies still do not fit.

Is there any way of changing the text on these bars to "build 1" "build 2" "build 3" "ICE 1" "IDE 2" "ICE 3" ?

Our (presumed) "IT specialist" say he does not know of one, but then I do not think that is a definite answer.

In advance, Thanks

Erik

I don't know if this would make it any easier. If you assign a shortcut to the application, you can (under the program tab) change the name that shows on the taskbar. You would have to make three different shortcuts to the same application and name them differently.
It would do what you want it just may be more of a hassle.

The "title" command in recent versions of Windows changes the title bar text (and of course task bar text) for the command window it is invoked in... I use this all the time for builds and such. It's even more convenient than shortcuts, because it's so easy to do from a build script (e.g., to identify any particular build options that may be set).
