In general software bugs will always show up in the same circumstances because code execution is predictable.
code execution is NOT predictable. If you knew how many "once a day/week/month/year when int a happens during int b and the code is between lines n and m in module c the product burps" problems I have been shown, you would NEVER make the statement "code execution is predictable." yes, of course, if you spend whatever time it takes to analyze the above problem, you can see that it will happen under those circumstances i.e. it is 'predictable' but if it REALLY was 'predictable' there would not be so much code out there with this "little insignificat flaw" Erik |
