Yes I know there are different ways. But I thought relays are the easiest because they are independent of the supply voltages. I mean, in some case I may have to take input from a 440V AC also. And the relay method will still work. So I opted for relays.
no, they are not "independent of the supply voltages". DUCK, REAL LOW BEHIND A SCREEN and then apply 440V to a 5V relay. That will show you. About Opto- couplers I am not very well versed with them. Also people told me they are quite expensive. Is that true? For reference, whether you want to buy from them or not, just use http://www.digikey.com. when I want to buy something in "distributor bypass volumes" I use the digikey catalog to see which manufacturers to contact. In lower volumes I often buy from digikey, they are ultra-convenient. Erik |
