You can use different methods for the mains voltage detection. For instance, ultra small mains transformers. Or, perhaps better, opto couplers. Yes I know there are different ways. But I thought relays are the easiest because they are independent of the supply voltages. I mean, in some case I may have to take input from a 440V AC also. And the relay method will still work. So I opted for relays. About Opto- couplers I am not very well versed with them. Also people told me they are quite expensive. Is that true? |
