The adjustable three terminal regs have a low ground current, but they do have a minimum load current of a few mA. To reduce dissipation, instead of using a resistor divider on the feedback you can use a zener (see app notes on data sheet).
I would still add the warning that the ripple output of a DC-DC switcher has many harmonics of the switch frequency, eg 300kHz, 500kHz, 700kHz, and the rejection of regulators and amplifiers gets worse and worse. The rejection of LC filters however gets better and better. |
