It looks like the SS is part of the programming interface. So why doesn't the 89ISP manual mention it at all? But I pulled it high with a 10k resistor. If you look at Figure 23-4. ISP Command Packet then I'd say SS is needed as a framing signal. ie It will not work left high. Check the programmer for a pin that behaves like SS, even if it is not documented. |
